For parents

Is Snapplings social media?
No — it’s a creature game.

Snapplings is a collecting game played with a camera: point it at a mug, a shoe, a leaf — and AI turns it into a one-of-a-kind creature card. The screen time points outward, at the real world.

What’s not here

The new under-16 social-media rules arriving around the world target platforms built on feeds, followers and posting. Snapplings is built on none of those — it’s a game.

What players can do together — and why it’s safe

Swapping cards with a friend

Works by sharing a short code with someone they already know — like trading stickers. No browsing for people, no inbox from strangers.

The Wild — a public gallery

Players can browse creatures others have caught. It only ever shows AI-generated creature art and an anonymous handle — never photos, never people, and there's no way to comment or contact anyone.

Leaderboards

Weekly collecting scores under anonymous handles. No profiles behind them, nothing to tap through to.

About spending

Snapplings is free to play, with optional purchases of in-game currency. Like card packs, creature outcomes involve luck — a snap might be Common or might be Epic. Purchases go through the App Store on iOS (so Ask to Buy and parental spending controls work exactly as you’ve set them) or a standard checkout on the web. The whole game is playable without spending anything.

Two modes: Snap, or Play

New players start in Snap mode: two tabs, the camera and the Vault. Snap something, meet the creature, keep it. No games, no leaderboards, no trading, no shop — just the Sparks that pace how often you can snap.

Player modeadds the rest — fusing, daily challenges, games, trades, the leaderboard and merch. It’s a switch in the ⚙️ at the top of the camera screen, and it works both ways, so you can turn the extras back off whenever you like.
